These two characters are basically the same, with some speed vs. power issues. Who would win?

Falcon duh...Gannon Is a power house. Any experience Falcon user can pull off moves to stop slow but power packing enemies. But experience Gannon users also have ways of stopping Speedy guys.

C. Falcon is way more balanced in speed and power
to be honest, i dont think ganondorf would win against any characters unless you really know how to use him.

Exactly. My friend uses Ganondorf though, and he completely murders me. Maybe I just suck with Marth...

Captain Falcon was on one of the Top Tiers in the first Super Smash Bros. game. Plus, I'm okay with him.
